Edwardian Tea Room, Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery, Chamberlain Square, Birmingham, B3 3DH
Join St. Chad’s Sanctuary, Asylum Matters and Coral Manton on World Refugee Day in Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery’s historic Edwardian Tea Rooms. The group will be sharing stories from their oral history interviews. There will be live music and refreshments.
Sanctuary Stories uses engagement with Birmingham’s heritage to create a feeling of welcome, learn English, share culture and create advocates in the refugee and asylum seeker community. The group has visited a series of Birmingham Museums Trust heritage sites – learning about heritage, sharing stories and discussing themes of migration that have shaped the city.
