18-29 and Thinking about Working for the NHS?

The Learning Hub offers employment training to unemployed people from across the Birmingham and Solihull areas. This mainly focuses on getting people into work or apprenticeships within the NHS and other healthcare settings, though they assist people into all areas of employment.

The Hub currently offers pre-employment training to people age 18-29 years old, to those who are NEET (Not in employment, education & training).

At present, they are offering offer a 12 week training package called Innovate, which contains:

  • 1 week of job search training (application & interview techniques)
  • 4 week package of training in health / employment related areas: adapting to change, first aid at work, infection control, telephone techniques, substance abuse, patient pathways, health & safety…
  • 3 week part-time voluntary work placement within a hospital area i.e.: nursing, admin (Office, ward clerk or reception), catering, housekeeping, Logistics, x-ray (Imaging), theatre support worker, stores and transport
  • Further job search support: applying and interview preparation
