The Birmingham Churches Winter Night Shelter is a community of individuals, churches and Organisations that work together to provide emergency accommodation, food and support to homeless people in Birmingham during the coldest winter months by welcoming them into our churches and providing hospitality.
This coming year will be our 6th year of running the shelter and we now have 14 churches hosting over 12 weeks beginning 9th January until 2nd April.
The shelter is a partnership project and relies on an army of volunteers and churches, but it has some financial costs which are necessary for it to run effectively . Thrive Together Birmingham provide the coordination of the project and we have to fund raise for guests transport costs to get them to and from the shelter, and for central coordination costs – we rely on the generous donations of churches and individuals to make the project run.
