Support an asylum-seeking person to learn English

October 9th, 2017

Refugee Support Network (RSN) are looking for volunteers to act as educational mentors for unaccompanied asylum-seeking children in Birmingham.

It would involve meeting up with a young person once a week and helping them with their school work. These young people, mainly boys aged 14-17, arrive in the UK without family and often speaking little English; they are placed in the care of social services. Education offers them real hope for the future; you could make a real difference to the life of a young person seeking safety in the UK. Training is offered.

Would you like to support an asylum-seeking young person learn English?

For further information or to apply please look on RSN’s website: www.refugeesupportnetwork.org/volunteering, email [email protected], or call Carolyn Burke on 07742 275041.
