The Buses are out there
The first Try Praying adverts on the rear of the buses appeared on Monday this week, but you’ll have to wait another week to start seeing the ad on the sides of 10 buses around Birmingham. As last year, we won’t know the exact routes or numbers until they appear, but they will be ones that leave the Yardley Wood depot.
Hitting the Streets
We would LOVE to see the opportunity of Try Praying maximised by having a High Street presence in the weekends leading up to Easter from 12 to 2pm on Saturday 1st and 8th of April and Good Friday, April 14th. With balloons and leaflets in hand, the idea is to encourage passers-by to try praying for themselves and see what happens. Would you be prepared to lead one of these times in your local shopping area? Do get in touch if you are at all interested and we’ll figure it out from there.
Involving your congregations
We hope your church will consider running a “Use it, Lose it” campaign again this year. Time is creeping up, if you are planning on holding it on the Sundays leading up to Easter so if you don’t have them yet, do order some booklets now and maybe another banner to go with it.
As well as the Bus advertising, our High Street initiatives and the core of the project – believers asking their friends and colleagues to try praying for seven days – we are also reaching out to Birmingham through Facebook. If you are a facebook user yourself (I bet you are, aren’t you?) then please do Like and Share the Facebook page: www.facebook.com/tryprayingbirmingham
If you’ve got any questions, please do get in touch with us and please do be praying for this campaign and for its impact on our city.
