Data Protection
Birmingham Churches Together is committed to meeting the requirements of the Data Protection Act 1998 and has adopted the Data Protection Principles produced by the Information Commissioner.
Information containing the names, addresses, telephone numbers and emails of contacts for local churches and Churches Together groups are held on BCT’s computerised database for the purpose of maintaining contact with Churches in the metropolitan areas of Birmingham and Solihull and for publishing on the Church Finder pages of the BCT website. Information on the database is also available to staff working with BCT.
It is our policy to publish personal contact information only with appropriate permission. The supply of personal information by email through the website for publication on the Church Finder constitutes permission to publish the material on the website, in our newsletter and in other material free of charge.
Personal contact information held by Birmingham Churches Together that is not for publication is held on a separate computerised database that is password protected and access limited to staff working with BCT. Computerised data is backed up on a regular basis.
Birmingham Churches Together does not guarantee the full accuracy of all data, especially for data based on information already in the public domain, such as denominational church directories. BCT relies on users of the website to keep information up to date.
We do not collect or store financial details (credit or debit card numbers).
