SUMMARY:My Mental Health and Spirituality
DESCRIPTION:\n\nMy Mental Health and Spirituality\n\n\n\n\nWITH REV PROF JOHN SWINTON\n\n\n\n\n\nEvent Date: Thursday 29 September 2022\nEvent Time:7:30 PM\nVenue: 70 Broad Street, Birmingham, B1 2HT\nAre science and faith opposed to one another? Does science disprove the existence of God? Or, alternatively, are science and the Christian faith complementary partners, together helping us to understand the world and our place in it in the early 21st century? This series of talks will all be given by prominent scientists who are also Christians, explaining how their science and their Christian beliefs work together. \nThe recent pandemic has damaged us all and has served to exacerbate the inequalities of our modern world. It’s not surprising then that we are all talking about mental health. John Swinton is uniquely qualified to speak about a spiritual dimension to the subject of mental health. He is a registered mental health nurse and professor of divinity at the University of Aberdeen. He contends that mental health problems require theological understanding and not just medical intervention and in this talk will identify fresh perspectives for care, healing, recovery and community.\nMy Mental Health and Spirituality – Science and Faith in the Second City ( https://scienceandfaith.co.uk/events/my-mental-health-and-spirituality/ )\n\n\n\n\n
