DESCRIPTION:\nThe Family Support Centre (based at Shirley Baptist Church) is offering a course for those interested in developing their listening skills.\n \nWhen is it?\nIt takes place on four Saturdays from 9:00 – 4:00pm\n16th and 30th September\n14th October\n11th November\n \nWho is it for?\nAnyone who would like to develop their listening skills. These can be relevant to your home life, work life or if you are involved in pastoral care. It is an opportunity to develop your own self-awareness.\nThe course is based on Christian principles but is suitable for those of faith or none.\n \nWhat happens on the course?\nEach week there will be time to learn and think about a different area and discuss or try out activities in small groups of two or three. You will not be asked to do anything that makes you feel uncomfortable. There is a set of comprehensive notes for each week.\n \nHow much does it cost?\nThe cost is £30. Refreshments are provided but you will need to bring your own lunch or buy it at the coffee shop next door. They usually do a special deal with us for course members.\n \nComments from previous courses\nIt uses what we are learning to help develop awareness which makes it relevant and practical\nMakes me realise about myself and about other individual’s needs\nIt uses the skills learnt with family and friends\nTime to learn about myself\nHelped develop confidence and growth in my abilities\n \nIf you are interested in coming on the course please get in touch with the centre on admin@fscshirley.co.uk ( mailto:admin@fscshirley.co.uk ) and we will send you a registration form.
