Faith and Communities Development Officer- Homelessness
We are looking for a dedicated individual who is driven by the desire to build strong connections across the faith and community sector to support the WMCA’s ambition to ‘design out homelessness’. You will have experience of working within the homelessness sector and will bring a good understanding of the motivations, contribution and challenges in the faith and community-based group sector.
In this role you will work collaboratively with faith, community and voluntary groups to coordinate services delivered to individuals that rough sleep and those at risk of rough sleeping across the WMCA region to ensure that there are strong pathways from the streets into settled accommodation.
About the team
This role will work as part of the Homelessness function within the Public Service Reform Directorate; a multi-disciplinary team who are working to ensure that residents of the WMCA region can benefit from public service innovation that connects our communities and unlocks potential through insight, innovation and system leadership – helping to create the conditions for new models of service delivery that can make a real difference on the ground.
Who we are
The West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) is a strategic authority working with partners to deliver a stronger West Midlands, with a focus on skills, innovation, transport, economic development and regeneration. Individual Councils and Local Enterprise Partnerships will still deliver services and retain their identity but on the big decisions we will have the resources to work together.
This is an exciting time for the West Midlands – the Commonwealth Games will be here in 2022, the arrival of HS2 will help make us a world class business location and a new £350m housing deal aims to deliver 215,000 new homes by 2031.
Against a backdrop of a uniquely challenging and evolving environment, we are looking for the right people to ensure we can meet the demands of delivering an ambitious agenda that aims to build a healthier, happier, better connected and more prosperous West Midlands.
In return for your hard work and commitment, we will reward you with a range of competitive and attractive benefits.
