URGENT HELP NEEDED

There are three distribution centres for the Aston & Nechells Foodbank. In addition to the Nechells and Aston centres that open every Monday and Friday, we also have a Ward End centre, open on a Wednesday.

We are currently in urgent need of volunteers at the Ward End Centre.

Our Ward End base is at The Elim Church, Church Walk, St Margaret’s Road, Ward End, B8 2HA, open between 1pm-3pm. Due to changing circumstance for several members of the team, we are struggling to provide the necessary provision with such a small group of volunteers.

Our volunteers are from all walks of life and come with a variety of skills and experience, there are a number of roles and responsibilities we need to cover during a session. Parcels to be packed, clients welcomed, vouchers processed, etc. It’s the all-important contact and friendly approach that creates a welcoming and supportive environment so vital for clients feeling embarrassed or apprehensive about coming through the door!
