BCT Project Restore Appoints New Manager

April 1st, 2019

A message from Mauricio Silva, Chair of Restore:

Dear friends of Restore,

It gives me great joy to communicate that the Restore Management Committee and Birmingham Churches Together have appointed Jeremy Thompson (pictured) as the new Restore Manager effective from 1st April 2019. Jeremy has worked at Restore for more than 14 years as the Befriending Co-ordinator and for the past six months as the Acting Project Co-ordinator. Jeremy’s new appointment comes after his successful application for this post. Jeremy brings to this new job not only his vast experience of working with asylum seekers and refugees, but also a compassionate heart and a firm personal and professional commitment to ‘welcoming the stranger’ (Matt 25 v. 35).

Last September, with sadness – but with a deep sense of gratitude – we bid farewell to Restore’s former manager, Shari Brown. With the same sense of gratitude and much joy, I now invite you all to welcome Jeremy into this new role at Restore. Your prayers and good wishes will only strengthen the widely recognised good work that Restore offers day after day.

As we embrace this new phase, may the actions and words of Restore’s committed staff, its compassionate volunteers and its generous supporters continue to be a faithful expression of the hospitable God we believe in.

(Restore is a refugee befriending charity based in Birmingham, and a project of Birmingham Churches Together)
