Praying in the heart of the city

January 17th, 2019

The 24 hours of prayer celebrating the week of prayer for Christian Unity is now in its fifth year and established as an integral part of the rhythm of prayer in and for our city.

What better way to start the year than by purposefully setting aside time to pray at the heart of the city?

The Church at Carrs Lane, Carrs Lane, Birmingham, B4 7SX is delighted to be hosting this year’s event and we warmly invite you to come and pray with us here.

Each hour will be led by a different church or group bringing together a diversity of Christian traditions and styles of prayer.

Drop in for a few minutes, or stay for several hours, everyone is welcome to come and go as you choose.

A couple of very particular invitations:

• The 24 hours will begin with a prayer breakfast bringing together people from different churches and traditions and we hope you will be able to join us (morning prayer 7.30, light breakfast, and prayer for concerns of the city). No need to register, just turn up.

• At lunchtime on Saturday (12noon) we will be taking the prayer out into central Birmingham, walking with a cross around the streets and would invite those who wish to walk with us to come and do so.

• Or come along to the final hour on Saturday at 6pm to close the 24 hours in a time of praise and worship.

The dates and times for this year:

Friday 18th January, 7.30am – 9.30pm and Saturday 19th January 9am – 7pm.
