Salvation Army seeks Creative Volunteers for New Initiative in Aston

January 29th, 2019

The Salvation Army Youth Centre in Aston, Birmingham is looking for passionate and dedicated creative volunteers to help disadvantaged young people in the area gain nationally accredited qualifications in the creative arts under the Arts Award.

They’re looking for volunteers who have experience in a wide range of creative fields, including (but not limited to): Music Production, Animation, Digital or Traditional Art, Graphic Design, Photography, Video Editing, Musical Instruments, or anything else they may like to offer! Our equipment includes Apple iMacs that run the latest Adobe Creative Cloud suite, Wacom Cintiq Drawing Tablets, and Maschine and Logic Pro music production software and recording equipment to teach with.

The Arts Award is a collection of nationally accredited qualifications aimed at young people up to the age of 25 who may struggle in a traditional educational environment, with a focus on practical learning and reflection. These qualifications are moderated by Trinity College London. Volunteers will have the potential to go on a training day in order to become a qualified Arts Award Advisor themselves.
