A Million Acts of Hope
13th to 20th May 2026
Churches Together in England would love your help to promote A Million Acts of Hope. This is an initiative being run by a coalition of faith-based charities and organisations including two of Churches Together in England’s national agencies Christian Aid and CAFOD
In response to the inflammatory rhetoric and misinformation that is being used to paint a picture of division, isolation, and competition for resources in our communities, A Million Acts of Hope seeks to drown out the negative and hateful noise with a call to people to highlight and celebrate the good things that are happening.
The principles behind A Million Acts of Hope are:
A Million Acts of Hope is not about doing something new but simply identifying and raising the profile of activities that are already happening with a desire to change the dominant narrative and offer hope to others. This could be a foodbank, a community café, litter picking or a welcoming warm space. You and your local ChurchesTogether groups are best placed to know where churches are bringing the community together and having a positive impact. Can you help them highlight it by joining the initiative?
Individuals can sign up as ‘Hope Makers’ and Churches Together groups and churches are invited to share their regular acts of community service, which bring people together, on a ‘Hope Map’
Please do sign up at: https://millionactsofhope.org/ to receive more information and be part of this great initiative that seeks to highlight all the positive and loving actions that take place within our communities.
