Advent Resources

The season of Advent begins on Sunday 28 November and runs until Christmas Eve. Advent is a season of preparation, anticipation and hope. Many Churches and Christian organisations provide resources for individuals, groups and congregations to use during Advent.

Red Letter Christians UK are offering a free Advent calendar of daily reflections, prayers & simple practices to help invest in hopeful, justice-seeking discipleship during Advent. Access the resources HERE

 

The Church of England has brought together a series of reflections, online services and printed materials under the theme, ‘At the heart of Christmas. Find the resources HERE

 

The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Birmingham has made a wide selection of Advent calendars, prayers and reflections available. Access these HERE

 

The Methodist Church is encouraging its congregations to simply reach out to their communities with the angel’s message of ‘Great joy for all the people,’ assuring everyone that the Methodist Church is praying for them and cares about their community and concerns. Find contemporary reflections, a free CD, posters and postcards HERE

 

The ‘Guild of Health and St Raphael‘s ‘Waiting Well Advent Journey‘ interweaves scripture, prayer and the wisdom of the Christian faith into each day of Advent, to encourage waiting well together for the birth of Jesus. Information and registration HERE
