Betel of Britain is a self-funded Christian charity offering help to those seeking to change their lifestyle and break free from addiction and homelessness. We offer a long term restoration programme, which is free of charge, where individuals become part of our family orientated residential community and are involved with the various aspects of work in our charity businesses which help fund our centres.

We are seeking an experienced individual for the central finance office (address below) to assist with all aspects of day to day transactions (cheques, receipts, entering bills, invoicing customers and general journal entries) pertaining to bank accounts (including cash), accounts payable, accounts receivable and reconciliations. The post would be

20-24 hours per week with some flexibility in work schedule but during the hours from 9am to 4pm Monday-Friday. There is potential for hours to increase to 30 depending on skills and/or growth in the position.

We need someone well-versed with bookkeeping practices and vat, highly accurate, computer literate and who knows how to use QuickBooks Online and MS Office software.

As skills are revealed and/or grow and the position develops, other duties may be added and training provided as necessary. These duties may include assistance with quarterly management reports and preparation of year end accounts, e.g. reviewing prepayments, accruals, depreciation and loan schedules, etc.

This position requires a very meticulous and organised person who has bookkeeping experience and is comfortable working without constant oversight.

Guideline pay rate: £12.50-£15 per hour (depending upon experience)
