Cathedrals reopening for worship and prayer

From Saturday 4th July, public Masses resumed at St Chad’s Cathedral. Those attending will have to wear a face
covering and no toilet facilities will be available in any part of the Cathedral site. St Chad’s Cathedral is open for private prayer between 1.30pm and 4.00pm each Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. The Cathedral is not available for private prayer on Thursday and Sunday. Masses are live-streamed from the Cathedral via THIS WEBSITE.

Birmingham (St Philips) Cathedral will open its doors for private prayer from Monday 6 July. Changes have been made to the cathedral’s interior to ensure it is a safe environment for all who work and visit there. A new one-way route has been introduced and hand sanitiser units are positioned at key points. Numbers entering the cathedral at any one time will be limited and visitors asked to keep two metres apart from others. Regular cleaning will take place throughout the day and chairs have been removed from the nave. The cathedral’s opening hours will be 10.00am to 2.00pm each day from Monday to Saturday and 12noon to 3.00pm on Sunday. Pre-recorded services of daily prayer, Friday Compline and Sunday Eucharist will continue to be broadcast on the cathedral’s YouTube channel. For more information, click HERE.
