Church of Sanctuary training

A ‘Church of Sanctuary’ training event will take place from 7.00pm to 9.00pm on Wednesday 31 May via Zoom.

At the event, Revd Dr Inderjit Bhogal, head of the Church of Sanctuary movement, will outline the key steps that enable places of worship to offer greater welcome, hospitality and safety to those fleeing violence and persecution. Among the contributors on the evening will be Erdington’s Sixways Baptist Church, which has been a Church of Sanctuary for a number of years. Newer CoS groups taking part will be a church in Cork, Republic of Ireland, and the Brighton and Hove Methodist Circuit. The online training event is for local churches and para-church groups that are already Churches of Sanctuary, as well as those who are considering becoming one.
