Holy Week Events

Here are a number of ecumenical services, services organised by Churches working together and Easter events.  If there is a service or event that we have not included, please email us at enquiries@birminghamchurches.org.uk

Birmingham City Centre

 

Erdington Churches Together

Friday 7th April Good Friday 10am—11.30am Churches Together Walk of Witness, starting outside the Co-op on Erdington High Street and finishing at St Barnabas Church.

 

Churches Together in Central Solihull

WALK OF WITNESS: GOOD FRIDAY 7th April join from 11am outside St Augustine’s Church, please bring palm cross if possible. Finish 12.15pm at St Alphege; tea/coffee and Hot Cross buns in the Oliver Bird Hall.

 

Churches in Handsworth

Harborne Churches Together

Join with members of other local churches to prayer walk around Harborne on Good Friday. Everyone is welcome, please feel free to join part way along the route. We will finish with hot cross buns and refreshments, served at Harborne Baptist Church from 1.30

9am. Meet at St Faith and St Laurence Church

9.05 Leave St Faith and St Laurence

9.30 St Peter’s

9.45 St Mary’s

10am St John’s Harborne (Vivian rd side)

 

Churches in Shirley 

Meet at 10:30am at Our Lady of the Wayside Church on Stratford Road, walking along the Stratford Road and stopping for prayer and song at St James, Shirley Park and then outside ASDA in the Parkgate Centre. Finishing with hot cross buns in Shirley Baptist Church

 

Churches in Small Heath 

A’ walk of witness on Good Friday, beginning at 11.00am at All Saints and proceeding down Coventry Road to finish at Holy Family Catholic Church.

 

Birmingham Community Gospel Choir

 

Salvation Army

On Good Friday the Salvation Army will be holding a short outdoor service on high Street about midday with their Band and Choir.

On Good Friday (7 April), the Love Walsall network is organising a March of Witness for Walsall’s churches. The event will begin at 10.00am in Park Street, Walsall. The procession will start at 10.30am from outside the Poundland store.

Churches in Wolverhampton

At 1.00pm on Holy Saturday (8 April), the Wolverhampton Connect network will hold an ‘Easter in the City‘ event in Queen’s Square, Wolverhampton. The special guests will be the Right Revd Clive Gregory (Bishop of Wolverhampton), Pastor Esther Uppal (All Nations Church) and Pastor Ivy Kapofu (International Life Centre).
