Good Friday resources from Birmingham City Centre Churches

Although Covid-19 lockdown restrictions have lifted slightly, it will still not be possible to conduct Holy Week events in the way that was normal in the pre-Covid era. However, Birmingham’s City Centre Churches’ group is providing three online resources for use on Good Friday:

+ An ecumenical Good Friday virtual Walk of Witness through Birmingham, while reflecting on the Stations of the Cross, can be found HERE. The photos used in the video were taken at the 2019 Walk of Witness. A downloadable service sheet and prayer card are also available at the same webpage.

+ A Good Friday service will be led by the three Churches who organise the Good Friday Walk of Witness in the City Centre and who are its usual route. The service will be broadcast live at 10.00am on Good Friday at THIS LINK.

+ The Good Friday service will be followed by messages from the Rt Revd David Urquhart (Anglican Bishop of Birmingham), Revd Ian Howarth (Chair of the Birmingham Methodist District), the Most Revd Bernard Longley, (Roman Catholic Archbishop of Birmingham), Revd Steve Faver (Moderator of the West Midlands Synod of the United Reformed Church) and City Centre Churches Together. The greetings and prayers will be broadcast at 11.30am on Good Friday via THIS LINK.
