Manresa Link Prayer Guide and Basic Training Course

‘Manresa Link’ is a Midlands-based, ecumenical network which puts on Ignatian retreats, encouraging participants to nurture an intimate relationship with Jesus and to open themselves up to the graces that God so generously offers. To enable participants to complete the course within the context of daily life, individually-guided retreats can be arranged to take place weekly over a six-week period. The prayer accompaniment is rooted in the Spiritual Exercises of St Ignatius of Loyola. The ministry is offered to people of all Christian denominations and none. Read more about the work of Manresa Link HERE.

Later this year, Manresa Link will offer its Basic Training Course, which equips people to accompany those undertaking the Prayer Guide on their retreat. To qualify to take part in the Basic Training Course, you must have made an Ignatian retreat, either in daily life or residentially. The training course will be based at St Mary’s Convent, 98 Hunters Road, Birmingham, B19 1EB, between October 2021 and January 2022. If Covid-19 restrictions are reimposed, the course will move online.

Input will cover the Ignatian journey, listening skills, images of God, the place of desire, consolation and desolation, discernment, supervision, safeguarding and organising an individually-guided retreat. Watch a short video by a Training Course participant HERE.

The times/dates of the Basic Training Course will be:

  • Between 10.00am and 12.30pm on Saturdays 2, 9, 16 and 23 October 2021
