Ministry on the streets

Two of Birmingham’s Christian ministries that reach out to people on the streets of the city are rebuilding their bases after the Covid-19 pandemic. The ‘Healing on the Streets’ and ‘City Pastors’ groups have worked in Birmingham for over a decade. Both ministries share a vision to serve the city by showing God’s grace and mercy to people outside the walls of church buildings. ‘Healing on the Streets’ does this by offering prayer for passers-by in need. The ‘City Pastors’ network works with Street Wardens and the police to help the vulnerable and sow seeds of hope in the night-time economy.

Both City Pastors and Healing on the Streets bring together Christians from different church backgrounds across Birmingham and Solihull. They experienced many instances of God at work during 2022 and want to see more Christian people involved in 2023. In accordance with Psalm 133, they believe that God gives divine blessing when his people work together in unity.

To inspire and equip people for potential involvement, Healing on the Streets is to hold a training day at St Martin in the Bullring from 9.00am to 3.00pm on Saturday 4 February. Register your interest by e-mailing THIS ADDRESS. City Pastors will hold training events from 8.00pm to 10.00pm on Friday 10 February and 7.00pm to 9.00pm on Saturday 11 February. For more information e-mail THIS ADDRESS.
