The ‘Shine Your Light’ initiative is calling on Christians to unite in towns, villages and cities across the UK in order to take the Gospel message outdoors in the run-up to Christmas. ‘Shine Your Light’ will run over the weekend of Saturday 16/Sunday 17 December, with an emphasis on community events and activities on the Saturday. The events should ideally take place in public places such as Town Halls, High Streets, town centres and shopping centres.
The initiative is being led by the National Day of Prayer and Worship in collaboration with numerous Churches and Christian ministries. Partners include the Baptist Union, the Methodist Church, Elim Pentecostal Church, the Salvation Army, the Redeemed Christian Church of God and HOPE Together.
Bishop Claion Grandison of the New Testament Church of God said, ‘The New Testament Church of God is delighted to say we are in for ‘Shine Your Light 2023.’ There will be an excitement and buzz as Christians take the message of the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ out onto the streets.
