Solihull says Thank You

Solihull Council has launched an initiative called ‘Solihull says Thank You,’ in place of The Civic Honours Awards, which have been postponed until 2021. ‘Solihull Says Thank You’ has been set up to acknowledge the support that people and communities have given each other over the last six months.

This is an opportunity for Solihull residents to thank an individual or organisation who has done something kind or helpful during this difficult time. Examples of actions that people may want to recognise include a neighbour who has done their shopping, someone who has been a supportive friend, or someone who has shown courage during the crisis.

Nominations are now open and will close on Sunday 6 September. Everyone nominated will receive a special ‘Thank You’ card from the Mayor. There will also be an opportunity for the nominees to submit a photo, which would be included in the ‘Solihull Says Thank You’ display in Touchwood and Chelmsley Wood Town Centre.

For more information – and to nominate a person or organisation – visit www.solihull.gov.uk/solihullcivichonours. Those without online access should ring Solihull Connect on 0121 704 8000 to make their nomination by phone.
