The Saltmine Theatre Company’s new Christmas show

The Saltmine Theatre Company, which performed so well at the recent Time4Change gathering at St Andrew’s Football Stadium, will be touring in person during December 2021. There are just three dates left on the touring schedule for the new all-age Christmas production, ‘Neverland (Peter Pan Reimagined).’

In the new show, one person who will do anything to make sure things go his way is wreaking havoc on Neverland. Nefarious pirate Captain J.A.S. Hook has been Peter Pan’s enemy for as long as either of them can remember – and Neverland isn’t big enough for the both of them. Who will win the ‘happy ever after’? And what if everyone loses? With original music and a big pinch of fairy dust, fly with Peter, Wendy and Tinkerbell as they discover a story that’s big enough for everyone to play a part, and where no one is written out. The show is suitable for all ages, combining festive entertainment with a message about the importance of community and connection with others.

Thursday 2, Thursday 9 and Friday 17 December 2021 are currently available to hire the Neverland show for your local church. Saltmine requires venues with a performance space of 6m wide by 6m deep by 5m high (stage floor to ceiling). For an evening show, Saltmine asks for access from around 1.00pm to set up. The shows are finished within two hours (including interval). The pack-down takes about an hour and a half. The provision of a meal for the Saltmine team of five/six people is requested.

The minimum suggested donation for the Christmas production is £985 plus a donation for travel costs. This books a team of professional actors and a technician, the use of Saltmine’s technical equipment, travel in two vehicles and a publicity package. Bookers can set their own ticket prices for their event to recoup this donation. Saltmine asks an additional donation in the region of £100-£150 for Friday bookings. Notwithstanding Covid-19 uncertainties, Saltmine Trust will need to request a non-refundable donation deposit of £250 from all bookers to secure their performance date, as soon as a venue is confirmed as suitable.
