Thriving as a Christian single

Questions often asked by Christian singles include, ‘Do I have the gift of singleness?,’ ‘Can I thrive as a single Christian?’ and ‘Where can I find the support I need, if my church or married friends are unable to help?’ A new event entitled ‘Unpacking singleness in the Kingdom’ aims to answer these – and other questions. The event is being organised by ‘City Vibes,’ the young adults’ ministry of the charity ChaplaincyPlus. The event is open to adults of all ages, including church leaders, who would like to better support their communities on the topic of singleness. The gathering will take place from 10.00am to 12.30pm on Saturday 12 February at C3 Gallery Church, 19 Harford Street, Hockley B19 3EB.

The meeting will feature refreshments, short talks by Guest Speaker Tim Herbert and the opportunity to talk in smaller groups. Tim is a single Christian, a member of Rowheath Pavilion Church and director of the organisation ‘Syzygy,’ which supports single Christians on the mission field. Tim is the co-editor with Dr Debbie Hawker of a book ‘Single in Mission,’ designed to equip Christian singles in their discipleship, resilience and contentment. Read more about the work of ‘Syzygy’ HERE.

‘Unpacking singleness in the Kingdom’ is not a dating event, but there will be opportunities to socialise with like-minded people. There will also be a prayer team throughout the event for those who want someone to pray or talk with them. Information and registration via THIS BUTTON. There is a small ticket price for the event, to cover teaching from the Guest Speaker, plus the refreshments. If the ticket cost presents an issue, e-mail co-organiser Mel Evans at THIS ADDRESS. It is the intention of City Vibes to make the event as accessible as possible for those interested in coming. Those who are able and willing can choose a donation ticket which will contribute towards the costs of someone else’s attendance. Read more about the work of City Vibes HERE.
