“We look but what kind of looking do we do? How do we see and understand ourselves, especially in light of our relationship with the Living Christ? We know that God speaks to us in still small voices, but also in the people and places we least expect. In supposed barren hard places there can spring unimaginable beauty and nourishment.”
Materials for a service marking the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, 18th to 25th January 2020, are now available. The theme is “Unusual Kindness”.
Click to download the PDF leaflet with prayers for each day.
The service is well suited to involve schools/children, both during the service itself and beforehand, in the production of a boat for the place of worship. Page 12 of the attached booklet gives you several ideas and also makes suggestions about how to use lighting to great effect.
Churches Together in England (CTE) advise you to start to contact your local schools or drama group now and ask them to help you make the service as vibrant as possible, and take the best advantage of this mission and evangelisation opportunity.
The file also includes daily reflections which are “superb and very powerful”. All resources will soon be available to download from the Churches Together in Britain and Ireland (CTBI) website.
