City Pastors Training Opportunities

City Pastors is an initiative involving volunteers working in partnership with Birmingham’s Westside & Southside Business Improvement Districts to ensure that the city is a safe, vibrant environment for everyone who visits.

The project began back in 2010 out of a desire for Christians from local churches to serve the city of Birmingham in a relevant and meaningful way. We initially explored working with Street Pastors, but with their blessing, and in discussion with key people in the city, we felt that the night-time economy needed something more bespoke and integrated.

There are some training opportunities for you to find out more.

Taster Session: City Pastors Taster Session | City Pastors

11th October 21:00 – 22:00 (register via the link above)

This is an opportunity to see what being a City Pastor is like. 

We will meet up outside the Hippodrome at 2100 and we will have a walk around Southside Business Improvement District. You will have a chance to ask any questions and see what it is like before deciding whether to be part of the next training cohort.

We should be finished by no later than 2200

Training Session: City Pastors Training | City Pastors

1st November 19:00 – 21:00 (register via the link above)

In this training you will cover the following:

• History of City Pastors
• The areas City Pastors cover
• The Spiritual “Why?”
• Alcohol & Drug awareness
• Observation skills and Scenarios
• Kit List

There will be opportunities to ask questions and at the end of the session, you will be able to kitted out in a City Pastors jacket and bag.
