LOCAL ELECTIONS IN BIRMINGHAM

Time4brum are encouraging churches to be at the heart of their communities for the May local elections. These are historical elections for the whole council at a time when there is unprecedented division and antagonism in our city. We encourage local churches to work together to organise local hustings. In these divided times it is vital that candidates are answerable to the local community and that there is healthy debate and understanding. Here are three simple steps

  1. Organise a local hustings in April – see these simple and very helpful guidelines https://www.eauk.org/general-election/how-to-organise-election-hustings
  2. Pray specifically for the elections for peace in our city – for division and hatred to be held back, for leaders with integrity and compassion, for Godly appointments to lead the city, pray for the candidates for your ward/s. Why not have an evening of prayer walking to pray for peace in your community?
  3. Join us to pray – Time4Brum and Chaplaincy Plus will be running election related prayer to pray for our city. Held on February 19th, March 19th April 16th from 7.15am – 8.45 am at St Martins in the Bullring – at the heart of the city.
